GlySign 1st annual meeting; 14-18 May 2018

Our first annual meeting took place at Ludger (Oxford, UK). All GlySign PIs and our six GlySign PhD students joined the meeting, in addition to the 13 GlyCoCan ESRs.

After one day of reporting on and discussing the progress of the project, the students received interactive training in Business models and Quality Management incl. SIPOC, and its application in GxP. Bringing together the ESRs from the two consortia enabled a productive exchange of experiences and ideas between the young researchers, especially since GlyCoCaners, who are one year ahead of the GlySigners, could mentor and support their more junior fellows from the sister consortium.”

Mass Spectrometry School in Biotechnology and Medicine, July 2017

The GlySign ESRs attended the 11th Mass Spectrometry School in Biotechnology and Medicine (MSBM), held in Dubrovnik, Croatia during the 2nd – 8th July 2017.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for our PhD candidates who were able to combine classes and tutorials with sunshine and swim breaks!

This was an excellent week of training for our ESRs as they had the opportunity to learn about the theory, operation, and application of mass spectrometry from an extremely experienced panel of lecturers. In addition, it was a great opportunity to make contact with other students who came from many different countries. Undoubtedly this experience will stand to the GlySign ESRs as their PhD projects progress.
